From Heathrow International Airport
Take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington. From there either take a taxi straight to The Grand at Trafalgar Square or take the Bakerloo Line (Brown) on the Underground to Embankment Station. Take Villiers Street exit onto Embankment Place, walk under the bridge, cross road, turn right onto Northumberland Avenue and it is two blocks on the left towards Trafalgar Square.
Heathrow Express costs £20.00 for Express Class and £26.00 for First Class, plus £4.50 Underground fare. Journey takes about 15 minutes from terminals 1, 2, and 3, allow an additional 5 minutes from terminal 4. Taxi from Paddington Station to The Grand at Trafalgar Square is approximately £22 or £80 for the entire journey. The hotel can pre-book taxis at reduced fixed rates from the airport.
Alternatively, take the Piccadilly Line (Blue line) on the Underground to South Kensington where you would change to the Circle (Yellow Line) or district line (Green line) to Embankment. Journey will take approximately 45-60 minutes and cost £4.50. You can purchase your transportation ticket at the window or the machine in the station.
From Gatwick Airport
Take Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station where you can either take a taxi straight to The Grand at Trafalgar Square or change to the District/Circle Line (Yellow/Green) on the Underground to Embankment Station. Take Villiers Street exit onto Embankment Place, walk under the bridge, cross road, turn right onto Northumberland Avenue and it is two blocks on the left towards Trafalgar Square.
Gatwick Express costs £19.90 for Anytime Single, £34.90 return, plus £4.50 for the Underground fare. Journey will take approximately 30 minutes to Victoria Station with an additional 10-15 minutes to Embankment. You have to take it from the South Terminal (there are free trains that link the North and South Terminals).
The journey will take approximately 50 minutes. Taxi for the entire journey would cost £130. The hotel can pre-book taxis at reduced fixed rates from the airport.

Underground and Train Tickets
British Rail has a range of cheaper tickets after rush hour. Cheap Day Return is for same day travel, Saver for returning another day, and Super Saver for a return any day but Friday. For local trips, purchase tickets from the self-service machines. You will need a ticket before you travel to avoid a fine of £10. National Rail enquires for Charing Cross, Liverpool Station, Victoria, Waterloo, Euston, St. Pancras, King’s Cross, Marylebone or Paddington Stations.
Travel Cards
There are different travel cards for bus, tube, DLR, and train service within the designated zones in London. You can purchase them directly at the Underground, DLR, train stations, or newsagents. One-Day travel cards provide unlimited travel after 9:30 am Monday-Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Weekly and monthly travel cards provide unlimited travel for that week/month and requires a photo card. Travel cards are available as a Family Package, valid on buses, tubes, and trains. The Family Travel Card also provides discounts for each child.
We highly recommend to any regular London visitor to get an Oyster card as it will save substantial money!

To drive to Spring Gardens from Northumberland Avenue, drive towards Trafalgar Square taking the third available exit off the roundabout on to Cockspur Street and immediately turn left on to Spring Gardens. It takes approximately 2 minutes. To walk back to the hotel, go down Spring Gardens towards Trafalgar Square and cross the Square on to Northumberland Avenue. We are located on the right hand side at 8 Northumberland Avenue.
A congestion charge payment machine is available at this car park and disabled bays. There are no motorcycle bays.
